In November, my search for a red factor canary brought me to The Canary’s Nest web site.  I called Marvin Walton and he spent a good half an hour explaining the ins and outs of keeping a canary happy and healthy and singing.

I purchased a male red factor and after a week, he called me to say the bird was on its way.  It arrived several days later in perfect condition, adapting to his new home immediately.

A week went by and Marvin wrote me asking how I was enjoying the bird’s song.  Well, I had not really heard it sing so I decided to wait a bit longer.  Marvin again asked me if the bird was singing and I had to admit that it was not.

At this point, Marvin insisted he send me another bird.  He was very intent on fulfilling his promise to send me what I had paid for.  I kind of ignored his e-mail because I wanted to give my canary a little more time, but Marvin called me the week of Christmas and said another male was en route because he wanted me to have him before Christmas.

Again, the bird arrived in perfect condition.  Because of the holiday, I kept both birds together for a week, at which time neither of them sang, but I knew they did not usually sing when not alone.

The day I removed the first canary from the cage to send him back, the replacement canary began singing and hasn’t stopped.  Marvin called me to assure me the first canary made it back to him safely.

Marvin went out of his way to make sure I got a singing canary.  Most breeders whose web sites I visited would not guarantee the sex of their birds or charged extra to have a vet certify the sex.  Often when you make an internet or phone purchase, you have that little reservation because you fear that you will not get what you paid for, or once you pay, you will never hear from the seller again.  Not so with Marvin.

Marvin also sells a fantastic line of canary feed and supplements.  He is extremely knowledgeable about the birds and the products.

If anyone is looking to purchase a canary or finch, I would highly recommend making a visit to http://www.thecanarysnest.com and giving Marvin Walton a call.  I am more than satisfied with my experience.

Thanks Marvin.
